Events · Lighting
Stage, ambient and architectural lighting.
Light decides how the event looks in the room and on camera. We plan it for the programme, the room and the cameras.
Light for the eye and light for the camera are not the same thing.
When clients usually bring us in
- you need a larger LED setup
- the event needs multi-camera production
- the programme has to be streamed
- you're juggling several technical suppliers
- you want one team for the whole delivery
You don't have to book the whole production
We can cover LED only, video only, sound only, lighting only or streaming only - with or without an operator.
What this means for you
- speakers are lit so they read on camera as well as in the room
- the room gets an atmosphere that matches the programme
- transitions between programme items are prepared in advance
- one technician runs the lighting through the whole event
Problem → solution

Four kinds of light that must not be confused
Functional
So people can see the room, the tables, the stage and the exits. The baseline everything else sits on.
Ambient
Colour and mood in the room, supporting what the event is about.
Stage
Highlights what happens on stage and separates performers from the background.
For camera
Even and strong enough that the recording isn't dark or colour-shifted. Planned together with the video crew.
Lighting does three jobs at once
At an event, lighting is not decoration. Its first job is that people on stage are visible - in the room and on camera. The second is that the space looks composed and on brand. The third is to give the programme rhythm: one look for a talk, another for playback, another for the break.
- key lighting for people on stage
- camera-aware lighting where the event is filmed
- room colour in the brand's palette
- accents on the stage, lectern or product
- moving lights for the dynamic parts of the programme
- preset looks for individual programme items
- an operator switching looks during the show
If it is being filmed, the lighting changes
Lighting that looks excellent in the room is often too dark or colour-shifted on camera. A camera needs more light on the face and a consistent colour temperature; otherwise the people look grey on the recording while the background turns blue or orange.
So for events that are filmed or streamed we plan the lighting together with the camera, not the other way round.
